“You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the dreams you have, and the conversations you engage in. You are what you take from these. You are the sound of the ocean, breath of the fresh air, the brightest light and the darkest corner.
You are a collective of every experience you have had in your life. You are every single second of every day. So drown yourself in a sea of knowledge and existence. Let the words run through your veins and the colors fill your mind until there is nothing left to do but explode, There are no wrong answer. Inspiration is everything. Sit back, relax, and take it all in.”
I read this today and thought it powerfully summed up the phrase “be still.” Many times in life we rush through, trying to reach the future goals we have set for ourselves, the next best thing, the job we always wanted – but what about that moment? Have you stopped and appreciated the space you are in? Sure, you may be broken and bruised, but life is about stretching yourself, jumping out of your comfort zone. We are the way we are as a result of our experiences. Life is just as much about the journey, as it is the destination.
So take it all in. Pause in the moment, take a deep breath, and appreciate who you are, and who you are striving to become.
The greatest men (and women) did not become so in a day, it was a continuous process, that demanded a renewing of the mind, body, and spirit every – single – day. You will find your purpose, you will attain success, love, and satisfaction in your life – but do not wish the day away. Celebrate today, and trust that tomorrow will come.
